Bolts missing from a steel post
A connection is only as good as its bolt group.
In short: Bolts absent at steel posts and beams on Leppington frames.
Where the load goes
In a mixed timber and steel frame, the steel carries the concentrated loads and the connections carry the steel.
What we recorded
Bolts missing at steel posts on Leppington frames, and separately a connection built differently to the engineering.
Why it survives
Steel reads as finished from a few metres away whether or not the bolts are in, and nobody counts them once the linings go on.
What we need
Your engineering. Without it a report can describe the steel present but not confirm it against the design.
The fix
Straightforward at frame stage, while the connection is exposed and the fabricator is still involved.
